DTZ – German for Naturalisation
The German Language Test for Immigrants (DTZ) is taken at the end of the Integration Course. A "B1" language proficiency certificate is required for naturalisation. Participants in our Integration Courses and external participants must register for the DTZ in the ISK office in person.
For more detailed information, please refer to our FAQ page for examinations.
At the end of the integration course, you write the German Test for Immigrants (Deutschtest für Zuwanderer – DTZ). The completion of the B1 level is proof of the language proficiency you require to become a German citizen. As the last part of the integration course, you attend the orientation course, which you complete by writing the “Living in Germany” test (Leben in Deutschland). You will be well prepared to take the test in the orientation course.
How can I prepare for the examination?
We always recommend that you take one of our orientation courses beforehand. Our qualified instructors get you ready in the best possible way to take the LiD examination. For more detailed information, please refer to our page on orientation courses.
